New tablet PC spurs functional sport coats

The new Motion Computing LS800 Tablet PC is small enough to fit in a lab coat pocket. That makes it great for doctors who are walking around the hospital with one. The problem: while lab coat pockets are designed to be functional, the pockets on men’s sport coats and suits are not.

That’s now changing. Early adopters are beginning with custom made clothes, and it won’t be long before the clothing companies spot this niche. See the Tablet page on segal.org for a photo of a jacket with one of these new pockets. Expect greater use of mobile applications once these jackets are widely available.
