Florida’s Democrat Senator Bill Nelson thinks the US Customs Service’s decision to increase seizures of drugs imported from Canada is a way to pressure seniors into signing up for Medicare Part D. After all, discounted drugs are no great bargain if they don’t arrive. Even the threat of seizure could be enough to scare people off.
Florida’s other Senator, Republican Mel Martinez, doesn’t see any dark motivations in the new policy, but does want imports legalized.
I don’t know the truth but I think Nelson may be onto something. It should be investigated.
