This gives new meaning to the term "usual and customary"

This gives new meaning to the term "usual and customary"China has become the land of health care ripoffs (as I've posted before), and the Wild West ways may yet trip up China's economy. One hospital apparently went a little too far recently, charging about $700,000 to care for a cancer patient who later died. From Reuters via AuntMinnie:

The investigation by the Health Ministry and other agencies found that Weng was charged many times for the same tests, as well as for tests and medicines that he never received. Intensive care unit staff later altered Weng's records to make the charges appear legitimate.

The president and six staff members at Harbin Medical University No. 2 Hospital were sacked as a result.
