Going too far in China
Going too far in ChinaA Chinese TV presenter got herself suspended from work for appearing nude in a "public interest advertisement" captioned "Clever Girls Love Themselves More." The supposed idea was to draw attention to women's health, but some interpreted it as a "commercial stunt" to promote a local gynecological hospital. The ad ran at bus stops and on billboards in Changsha, capital of Hunan province.
"What a shame breasts have become the leading actor," the official Xinhua news agency said in a commentary.
"This is a serious attack on women," fumed an online commentator. "It goes completely beyond the moral and aesthetic baseline."
