Some good news

Last month I reported that lack of coordination between the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and World Health Organization (WHO) was threatening the availability of key AIDS drugs in Africa. Now the FDA and WHO have reached an information sharing deal to solve that problem. According to the Boston Globe (Accord could speed distribution of generic AIDS drugs):

The FDA will pass on its files about the drugs; WHO will add them to its list of approved medicines; and poor countries will allow importation of the drugs, giving the United States the opening to buy and distribute them.
