Today's Wall Street Journal (Drug Companies Handle Their Own Deliveries) tells how drug companies also did a good job of getting in needed supplies quickly. It was a lot less dramatic than the HCA effort but also effective. Eli Lilly used the corporate jet to get supplies to Bay St. Louis, MS. GSK used regular express services like Fedex to get supplies to the Astrodome. The companies are also making donations through regular charitable channels and working with pharmacies to provide free drugs.
