FDA to hold public hearing on DTC ads

The FDA will hold a public hearing to scrutinize the use of celebrities and patient testimonials in drug ads, to determine whether such practices "mislead consumers about the risk-benefit trade-offs" according to the Boston Globe.The hearing is to be held November 1 and 2.
