Watch what you eat

VNU may have bitten off more than it could chew when it tried to acquire pharmaceutical data company IMS last year. (That deal was dropped amid criticism that it didn't do much for VNU, and VNU management has been under pressure since.) Now VNU itself is likely to be acquired by a consortium of private equity firms, who have made a lowball offer for the company.
