When drug reimportation really is dangerous

The pharmaceutical industry is constantly trying to scare patients and governments away from drug reimportation. A lot of the rhetoric is baldly self-serving. However, one valid reason to be careful of foreign drugs is that two products may have the same name but contain completely different ingredients. An example is Flomax, which is a prostrate treatment in the US but an anti-inflammatory drug in Italy.Don't be surprised if drug companies start to make a greater effort to establish the same drug with different names in different markets to try to discourage cross-border trade
