According to the group, Crestor should never have been approved because it has no unique benefits and is more dangerous than other statins. And of course Pfizer has long touted the superiority of Lipitor over other statins, including Crestor.A new study on Crestor has just been published in JAMA. It indicates that Crestor could reverse plaque build up. That good news for Crestor was featured prominently in the general media today.But that's not enough to appease Public Citizen, which contends the study was too small, too short, and not randomized. Public Citizen still wants Crestor off the market.Meanwhile, Pfizer disputed the Crestor findings, insisting that only Lipitor has demonstrated strong benefits for a wide variety of patients.It may be awhile before we see Public Citizen and Pfizer in the same bed again.
