Consumer activist Erin Brockovich has filed seven lawsuits seeking to force several hospital and nursing home companies with California operations to return any Medicare payments for illnesses they helped cause through medical errors or neglect.

This comes on the heels of CMS's suggestion (discussed here last month) that CMS shouldn't pay for so-called "never events" --serious errors such as wrong-site surgeries, mismatched blood infusions and the like. You wouldn't think the Bush Admin and Erin Brokovich would go together, but health care is strange.What will they call the movie? Mark McClellan? Erin McClellan? Erin Brokovich Returns?
