Coming to America after all
The Chinese government has decided to free HIV/AIDS activist Dr. Gao Yaojie from house arrest and let her travel to the US to receive an award from Vital Voices Global Partnership. The Chinese were trying to avoid embarrassment by preventing Gao from traveling and speaking about the situation in China, but advocacy by high-profile people including Hillary Clinton made it so letting Gao travel became the path of least resistance. It's a good thing China is becoming less apt to pretend HIV/AIDS and other illnesses don't exist.See my previous post on Gao here.
