"The emergency room is where you wait around"

When I tried to slice a loaf of bread yesterday afternoon I sliced my finger instead. It was a pretty deep cut and blood was gushing. My first thought was, "I hope I don't have to go to the emergency room because I hate it there." I was less worried about the injury itself. Luckily I managed to stop the flow eventually and go about my business. When I related this mishap to some friends tonight, a four year-old who overheard me said, "The emergency room is where you wait around." This is clearly a kid who knows what he's talking about.
