Foreign computer hackers, primarily from Russia and China, are increasingly attempting to steal U.S. health care records, according to Mark Walker, an analyst for the Department of Homeland Security, Government Health IT reports.Speaking at a workshop for the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Walker said the primary motive for the hackers seems to be espionage, but "[w]e don't know why" they are seeking to access health care data, he said.

Maybe they're just trying to reverse engineer our clinical care protocols.
