CPOE that's easy to use? KLAS gives PatientKeeper top marks

PatientKeeper CEO Paul Brient was a technology and business whiz kid when I met him 20 years ago at business school and then worked with him at the Boston Consulting Group. So I'm not at all surprised to see his company churning out award winning software. Still, I'm impressed that the PatientKeeper computerized physician order entry (CPOE) system has been rated so highly by KLAS Research, which rated it well above all competitors including Epic.In this podcast interview, Paul discusses the state of hospital information technology, how CPOE fits with the EMR, and the design philosophy behind PatientKeeper's offerings. As a bonus, Paul offera his two cents about the problem-plagued launch of the federal health information exchange and the prospects for getting it fixed in time.[audio http://healthbb.files.wordpress.com/2013/10/pkeeperklas1.mp3]-----By David E.
