Interview with Hebrew SeniorLife CEO Lou Woolf

When the Hebrew SeniorLife search committee interviewed Lou Woolf for the job of president, they were a little surprised that he brought up his experience working with the Children’s Television Workshop as a relevant qualification. But wait, he told them: Sesame Street and the Muppets gave kids a lot of credit for what they could understand and enjoy. HSL does the same for older adults: having high expectations about what’s possible. In this edition of the HealthBiz podcast, Lou talks about the role his father and brother played in his upbringing, how he brought the discipline of marketing to consumer goods and then to healthcare, and what it’s been like to lead the varied service lines of HSL.We talk about the challenges of the past couple year, and Lou’s ambition to develop a dementia care center of excellence to do Boston proud.
