No surprise here: Medicare beneficiaries don't understand Part D

The MedicareHMO website conducted a small (139 person) poll with the following question:How well do you think you understand the new Medicare Part D Prescription Benefit?

• 70% said, "Don't understand how it works"
• 20% said, "Know a little, but am not sure about the rest"
• 8% said, "Have a reasonable understanding"
• 2% said, "Already have detailed knowledge"

There's still time to learn, but with numbers like that I really doubt that great numbers of people will sign up as projected.
