An executive at the Joslin Diabetes Center who saw yesterday's post about the poor state of the economy and the lack of good job opportunities for the newly unemployed wrote to me to point out that things may not be quite as bleak as I claim. If that sounds like you, you can apply online.Overview:The Senior Program Manager, Healthcare Services (Strategic Initiatives) leads efforts to commercialize Joslin programs, branding, and other assets. The focus will be on new product development in coordination with Strategic Initiative’s and the Center’s clinical teams, in addition to commercializing existing assets/programs.The Senior Program Manager will act as the primary senior liaison for 1-3 major customers. Finally, the Senior Program Manager is responsible for all internal budgeting and financial analysis for the Healthcare Services department including developing projections for new products and business lines.Responsibilities:1. Leads internal Joslin efforts to create new products and business lines. Works with clinical staff at SI and Center to develop plans to commercialize “best of Joslin.” Develops business plans.2. Acts as the primary day-to-day relationship manager for 1-3 existing major customers in a variety of areas. These customers include consumer, retail, pharma, device, payer, and other health care companies. Champions the program and customer needs internally within Joslin. Serves as the visible, day-to-day program and relationship manager responsible for ensuring successful achievement of all program activities and deliverables.3. Supports sales activities by creating concepts for new programs, writing proposals for customers, and developing budgets, in coordination with Business Development Manager (lead generator), Sr. Director, HCS, and Clinical team.4. Manages department P&L, interfaces with finance, etc.Qualifications: Master’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration. 3-5 years experience in strategic/analytic role, customer service, and new product development. Management consulting experience preferred, but not required. Project management experience, including program start-up, implementation and coordination, budget development and management. Knowledge of accounting for program management. Ability to travel approximately 10-30% of the time overall to oversee programs, maintain customer relationships, meet subcontractors, etc. Skill in negotiation; exchanging ideas, information and opinions with others to formulate programs and to arrive at decisions, conclusions or solutions. Ability to work both collaboratively and independently, as situation dictates. Demonstrated ability to establishing rapport and maintaining effective relationships with new and existing clients. Skill in interacting with multiple levels of client contact. Skilled in attention to detail and accuracy of data to ensure seamless project and program management. Demonstrated analytical skills with ability to identify root-cause and resolve problems. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, in order to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to learn new situations and data, quickly integrating the knowledge into tactical and strategic activities.Preferred Working knowledge of software skills including database
